Lifeguard I

Pay Scale: $9.50-10.50/hour
Days/Hours: Weekday and Weekend shifts.

Job Description:

Responsible for the safety of members and participants in and around the aquatic facility. Prevent potential accidents by adhering to policies set forth by the American Red Cross and the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Current Lifeguard Training certification
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Title 22 Certification (Preferred)
  • Must pass a written and practical skills exam

Representative Duties:

Practice preventative lifeguard techniques at all times to include:

  • Positioned to have full view of the area of responsibility above and below the surface.
  • Continuously scan the area of responsibility
  • Perform appropriate rescues when necessary
  • Attend in service trainings as scheduled
  • Participate in random and scheduled lifeguard drills
  • Administer First Aid/CPR as necessary
  • Perform pool related maintenance duties
  • Know the pool rules and educate participants of them
  • Answer general information questions about facility

Lifeguard II

Pay Scale: $10.50-11.50/hour
Days/Hours: Weekday and Weekend shifts.

Job Description:

Responsible for the safety of members and participants in and around the aquatic facility. Prevent potential accidents by adhering to policies set forth by the American Red Cross and the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 17 years old
  • Current Lifeguard Training certification
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Title 22 Certification (Preferred)
  • Must pass a written and practical skills exam
  • Must have good knowledge of the facility and programs
  • Must demonstrate qualities of a leader and be able to complete tasks without being told to do so
  • Must be able to take charge and oversee weekend and evening sifts.

Representative Duties:

  • Practice preventative lifeguard techniques at all times to include:Positioned to have full view of the area of responsibility above and below the surface.

  • Attend in service trainings as scheduled

Lifeguard III

Pay Scale: $11.50-12.50/hour
Days/Hours: Weekday and Weekend shifts.

Job Description:

Responsible for the safety of members and participants in and around the aquatic facility. Prevent potential accidents by adhering to policies set forth by the American Red Cross and the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex. Oversee weekend shifts, evening shifts, and special events.

  • Must be at least 17 years old
  • Current Lifeguard Training certification
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Title 22 Certification (Preferred)
  • Must pass a written and practical skills exam
  • Must have excellent knowledge of the facility and programs
  • Must demonstrate qualities of a leader and be able to complete tasks without being told to do so
  • Must be able to take charge and oversee weekend shifts, evening shifts, or special events.

Representative Duties:

  • Practice preventative lifeguard techniques at all times to include:
  • Positioned to have full view of the area of responsibility above and below the surface.

  • Participate in random and scheduled lifeguard drills

  • Oversee weekend shifts, evening shifts, or special events
  • Take on the responsibilities of shift leader when required
  • Oversee other lifeguard staff
  • Resolve any pool related conflicts
  • Perform opening/closing duties
  • Oversee the set up of the pool for programs or special events

Swim Instructor

Pay Scale: $11.00/hour
Days/Hours: Weekday and Weekend shifts.

Job Description:

Plan and instruct classes from toddler to advanced swimming levels in an enthusiastic and professional manner. Provide a safe environment for swim lesson participants in and around the aquatic facility. Prevent potential accidents by adhering to policies set forth by the American Red Cross and the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 17 years old
  • Current Lifeguard Training certification (Preferred)
  • Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
  • Current First Aid Certification
  • Current Water Safety Instructor certification or equivalent
  • Title 22 Certification (Preferred)
  • Must pass a written and practical skills exam

Representative Duties:

  •  Develop lesson plans for each class section
  • Communicate effectively with students in a patient, and friendly manner, that provides encouragement
  • Make use of proper teaching aids
  • Recognize improper techniques or skills and correct using positive feedback
  • Keep up to date records of your classes
  • Attend in-service trainings as scheduled
  • Attend weekly meeting updates regarding lessons
  • Know pool rules and adhere to them at all times
  • Answer general information regarding programs

Front Desk Personnel

Pay Scale: $8.00-9.00/hour
Days/Hours: Weekday and Weekend shifts.

Job Description:

Responsible for collecting money of participates entering the pool. Answering phone calls. Signing up participates for classes and membership.

Qualifications:

  •  Must be at least 16 years old
  • Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must have good communication skills
  • First Aid/CPR a plus but not required

Representative Duties:

  • Greet and collect money from patrons as they enter the facility
  • Provide general information to patrons regarding schedule and programs
  • Answer phone calls, take messages for staff
  • Sign participants up for classes and memberships
  • Be able to look up patrons name and membership status when needed
  • Perform other clerical duties as needed
  • May be asked to assist in First-Aid or other emergency situations
