Please consider a donation to the Endowment Fund!
In December of 2005 the La Jolla Aquatic Complex Foundation created an Endowment Fund. The Board of Directors has a goal of raising $1,000,000 for the Fund. The income generated by the Endowment Fund will be used to help offset any annual deficit incurred from the operation of the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex. When the pool opened in September 2002, the annual deficit was projected to be $50,000. Primarily due to rising insurance and utility rates, the annual deficit has risen over the years. These deficits have been covered in the past through the fund raising efforts of the Foundation Board of Directors and the ongoing support of many generous donors.
The Coggan Family Aquatic Complex is one of the few, if not only, stand alone, unsubsidized public pools in San Diego County. The pool receives no money from the City of San Diego and the San Diego Unified School District pays only for the time that La Jolla High School physical education classes use the pool.
By attaining our goal of $1,000,000 in the Endowment Fund, we will create an annual income stream that will help cover the annual deficits. The La Jolla Aquatic Complex Foundation is a California non-profit 501 C (3) Corporation thus any donations made to the Endowment Fund are tax deductible.
